Budget and help

Your evening budget and end time

The calculator below turns the amount and the hours you set into a pace per hour and a time to leave. Under it sits the help available in Saskatchewan, starting with a free, confidential helpline open 24 hours.

Set the numbers before you go

The evening, in your numbers

Your amount and your hours: the pace per hour and the time to call it a night.

Set your numbers above.

Divide the amount by the hours: that is the pace per hour. Add the hours to your arrival time: that is when to leave. The floor closes at 3 am Sunday to Wednesday and at 4 am Thursday to Saturday; Legends stops serving at 9 pm, or 10 pm on Friday and Saturday.

Before you leave the house, pick two numbers: an amount you are ready to spend and a time to stop. Treat that amount as the cost of the evening, money that is gone once it is spent. The calculator only does arithmetic on your own figures. It predicts nothing about what the machines will do.

Painted Hand Casino keeps its floor open until 3 AM from Sunday to Wednesday, and until 4 AM from Thursday to Saturday. That is a closing time, not a plan.

If you are driving home to Melville, Canora or Kamsack, your end time has to include the drive. Distances on this site are straight lines between map points, so check the road route before you set the time. A general tip: step away from the floor every so often, and check the clock against your plan.

Help in Saskatchewan

  • The Saskatchewan Problem Gambling Helpline, 1-800-306-6789, is free and open 24 hours. Trained counsellors answer in confidence, for people with gambling problems and for their families.
  • Counselling for problem gambling through the Saskatchewan Health Authority costs nothing for Saskatchewan residents. You do not need a doctor's referral.
  • SIGA Voluntary Self-Exclusion is requested at any SIGA casino, with a term from 6 months to 5 years. It bans you from all nine casinos in Saskatchewan, and nobody can enrol someone else.
  • Game Break, the program of Casinos Regina and Moose Jaw, excludes you from all casinos in Saskatchewan and from PlayNow.com for 6 months to 5 years. Once it takes effect, it cannot be shortened or removed.

What it means at the door

At the Yorkton casino, as at every SIGA casino, a self-excluded person is a prohibited individual and cannot receive winnings. The same rule applies to anyone under 19. Neither SIGA self-exclusion nor Game Break reaches private online casino sites, including the paid partner linked on this guide's home page.
